Golf Tournament Coming Up

Join Erwin Church of God for a Four Man Captain’s Choice Tournament to be held Sept. 29 at Keith Hills Golf Course. On behalf of the student ministries, they are raising funds to take students on church events for 2018-2019. The tournament schedule is: Registration, 10:30 a.m.; lunch, 11:30 a.m.; and shotgun start, 12:30 p.m. Prizes to be awarded include first, second and third place; closest to pin on all par 3 holes; longest drive; longest putt and more. Lunch will be included. The cost is $60 per golfer or $240 per team. For a donation of $100, you can sponsor a hole that will display a sign on one of the holes on the golf course. All sponsorship forms must be turned in by Sept. 20

Pastor Pre-Anniversary Program Canceled

The pastor’s pre-anniversary program scheduled for tonight at 7 at Dunn Chapel FWB Church has been canceled.

Union Hill News

Sunday at 3 p.m., there will be a building fund program at Union Hill Church. The guest minister is Millie Harris of Broadway. Music will be by the J&L Ensemble of Sanford.

Sept. 23 at 3 p.m., Union Hill trustees will hold their annual program. The guest pastor is Dr. Alexandra McArthur along with Pleasant Grove FWB Church family and choir.

The host pastor is Rena Sutton.

Community Outreach Saturday

The Raleigh District presiding elder, Anthony Davis, will sponsor a Community Outreach Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at Lillington-Shawtown Elementary School, 855 Old U.S. 421, Lillington. Featured will be a bouncy house, snow cone machine, popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs, hamburgers, voter registration, economic development, Harnett County Library, health screenings, informants for foster care and parks and recreation, barbers and beauticians on site.

Holly Grove Harvest Day Rescheduled

The Harvest Day plate sale planned for Saturday at Holly Grove Advent Christian Church has been rescheduled due to the threat of Hurricane Florence. Harvest Day will now be held Sept. 29.

Prayer Conference Underway

Prayer Conference 2018 will be held tonight at 7 and 8 a.m. on Saturday at Mt. Calvary Holiness Church of Deliverance. The theme is “Boldly Before The Throne.” Speakers include Co-Pastor Patricia Brinson, Forever Flowing Ministries; Apostle Theodora McLaughlin, Deliverance and Praise C.O.W., Fayetteville; and Pastor Patsy Taylor, Hilltop Ministries, Goldsboro.

‘Friday Night Frenzy’

Tonight at 7, the youth will sponsor a “Friday Night Frenzy” program. The speaker will be minister Cory Munns from Restoration Church. This is a dress-down service and all are asked to bring their favorite hand noise maker.

The Taylors Homecoming Celebration

Join The Taylors for their Homecoming Celebration at Central Baptist Church Sept. 20-22. They will host The Hoppers on Sept. 20, Brian Free and Assurance on Sept. 21, and Triumphant Quartet on Sept. 22. The Taylors will perform nightly with each evening starting at 7. Doors open at 6 nightly. Danny Jones will be the emcee for the weekend.

Coats Christ Fellowship Anniversary

Coats Christ Fellowship will celebrate the church’s anniversary Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The guest minister will be the Rev. Wiley Clark. There will be special music and intercessory prayer. Lunch will follow.

Trinity AMEZ To Celebrate Anniversary

Trinity AME Zion Church Church family invite you to join them in celebrating their 128th church anniversary Sunday. The Rev. John Thomas Morrison Jr of Mt Zion AME Zion Church, Eastover, will render the 11 a.m. message along with the Mt. Zion Male Chorus and congregation. Old Bluff Reunion Sept. 23

This year is the 260th year since the Old Bluff Church’s founding in 1758. The date of the reunion is Sept. 23. Worship is at 11 a.m. followed by a covered dish lunch on the grounds. Dr. Samuel L. Adams, professor of Biblical Studies at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Va., will preach on “Civility, Koinonia, and Our Current Cultural Moment,” and he and the Rev. Meg Lindsay Dudley, pastor of Bluff Presbyterian Church, will preside over the Lord’s Supper.

Community Fun Day Planned

A Community Fun Day is planned at Flat Branch Covenant Presbyterian Church Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be fun and fellowship for all ages, as well as hot dogs, hamburgers, hayrides, games, water slide and more.

Homecoming At Mount Zion

Sunday, Mt. Zion will celebrate its annual homecoming beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor Floyd Ray will be the speaker. At 3 p.m., the speaker and church family will be Elder Willa R. Strickland and Running Branch Disciple Church of Clinton. Lunch will be served.

Seven Mile Association

The Seven Mile Primitive Baptist Association will be held Saturday and Sunday at Reedy Prong Church in Johnston County. Service will begin at 11 a.m. on both days. Friends are welcome; travel south from Meadow on N.C. 50, go to the third road on the right, go to the stop sign, then turn left. The church is on the left.

Quartet Program At Jackson Grove

A Quartet Program is scheduled for Sunday at Jackson Grove Bible Church of God, located at 82 Sinclair Lake Road in the Midway community. Featured on the program will be Justified from South Carolina, Billy Ray & Gospelaires of Clinton, the Robertston Sisters of Clinton, Promise of Lillington, Willow Spring Male Chorus, the Simpson Family of Autryville, the Master Keys of Angier, the Williams Family of Roseboro and the Monk Sisters of Clinton. This is a birthday/building fund quartet program sponsored by Annie Williams. The host pastor is Louise Royal.

Revival At Mingo Hill

Revival will be held Sept. 20-21 at Mingo Hill Church, located on U.S. 421 South, Dunn. Service time is 7:30 nightly. The guest preacher will be Pastor Willie Hunter Jr. from St. Mary’s FWB Church, Holly Springs.

Revival is scheduled for Sept. 16-19 at Four Oaks Advent Christian Church. Speakers will be Jason Hudson, pastor of Unity AC, Sunday at 7 p.m.; Doug Abel, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Grove News

Pleasant Grove FWB Church will hold a Sunday school program Sunday. Service time is 4 p.m. The speaker will be Overseer Betty Vann from Kingdom Building Worship Center, along with the church family and choir.

Sept 21, the Men’s Fellowship will hold a plate sale at Pleasant Grove FWB Church, 1520 Casper Road, Dunn. Barbecue chicken, fish and pulled barbecue plates will be $8 per plate. Plates will be served with slaw, potato salad, green beans and hushpuppies with cake. Combination plates consisting of two meats, slaw, potato salad, green beans and hushpuppies with cake will be $10. They will deliver for at least four plates.

God’s House Of Prayer News

A Friday night Joy Service will be held at God’s House of Prayer. Preachers will be Mother Parthenia Faison, Mother Roslin Campbell and Elder Billy Campbell. Service time will be 7:30 p.m.

The Sunday morning worship service will also be held at the Dunn location. Service will begin at 11 a.m. The preacher will be Bishop Mike Walden. All music will be rendered by the God’s House of Prayer Choir.

Homecoming At Spring Hill FWB

Spring Hill FWB Church will observe its annual homecoming Sunday at 11 a.m. Dr. Stanley A. Williams Jr. will bring the morning message. Spring Hill Male Chorus will sing. Lunch will be served immediately after the service.

At 4 p.m., Dr. Jerryl Moody from Calvary Missionary Baptist Church will render the service.

Women’s Conference Planned

Mount Pisgah Harnett’s Women of Virtue ministry have planned a Women’s Conference tonight at 7:30 and Saturday at 9 a.m. The speaker tonight is Lady Leah McNair from Emmanuel Baptist Church in Thomasville. Saturday’s speaker is Pastor Candace Joyner from Fayetteville. Also, there will be workshops for young ladies and girls presented by Jetoya Robinson and Denise Williams on Saturday. Men are welcome to attend tonight, however, Saturday is for women, young ladies and girls only.

Homecoming Planned At Antioch FWB

Antioch FWB Church, 7559 Carlos Road, Linden, plan to hold homecoming Sunday at 11 a.m. They will celebrate 121 years of continuous service. Bishop John McDowell, pastor, will bring the morning message. Lunch will be served after the morning worship. The public is invited to attend.

Revival Starts Sept. 19

Mount Pisgah Harnett OFWB Church, 145 Prospect Church Road, Erwin, NC will hold a fall revival September 19-21 at 7 nightly. The revivalist for the three-day revival will be Bishop Arinzor Blue, pastor of Faith Tempe No. 1 in East Orange, N.J. Various choirs will render the music. Bishop Reginald S. Hinton Sr. is the pastor.

Sampson County Gospel Sing Set

The 101st annual Sampson County Gospel Sing will be held Sept. 22 at Clinton Family Worship Center, 103 Raiford St., Clinton. Admission is free. The official opening will be at 5 p.m. There will also be a memorial service and Sampson County Gospel Music Hall of Fame awards.

Singers to appear include The Dixie Travelers at 5:30 p.m., Rapture Road Quartet at 6 p.m., The ViewMasters at 6:30 p.m., the Marksmen Quartet at 7 p.m., New Bethel Quartet at 7:30 p.m., His Voice at 8 p.m., and Wesley Pritchard & Friends at 8:30 p.m. Prayer and closing will be at 9 p.m.
