Movie Night Tonight

Redemption Hill Church will present a free outdoor family-friendly movie tonight at 8 at 200 N. 13th St., Erwin. There will be free drinks and free popcorn. Bring a chair or blanket.

Super Sunday Nights Continue

Duo Kindred Spirit will be in concert Sunday at 6 p.m. at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church. Female soloist, Alice Hobbs will be featured on July 1 at 6 p.m. This will be part of the church’s Super Sunday Nights Series held throughout the summer.

VBS At Spring Branch Baptist

Vacation Bible School will be held June 24-27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Spring Branch Baptist Church. A meal will be served at 6:10 p.m. There will be a contest between girls and boys, games, prizes and recreation. A children’s presentation will be given by Jane Poole. VBS Starts June 25 At Word Afire

Vacation Bible School for ages 6 to 17-plus will be held June 25-29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Word Afire Ministries. The theme is “Jesus The Kingdom Builder: Strong Families, Churches & Communities.” There will be Bible stories, fun activities, music and snacks. The event is free. VBS Kicks Off Saturday

Pastor Jeff Hyder of First Baptist Church of Linden invites all to its “Game On” Vacation Bible School. The kickoff is Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. VBS will be June 24-28 from 6 to 9 each evening. A snack supper will be served at 6 p.m. with VBS classes and activities following.

Cape Fear ‘A’ Conference Celebrating 150 Years

The Cape Fear “A” Conference is celebrating 150 years with a special event Saturday and to do it, they’re inviting the community. Church Elder Laeulia Lisane said the event is not only a celebration of the church, but the community as a whole.

The highlight of the event is the day-long Barbecue Cook-Off Feast. It features pork, turkey and chicken and runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the campus of Cape Fear “A” Conference located at 25 Beaver Road, Erwin. In addition to the cook-off, there’s also a car show and contest, a motorcycle contest, music, a bake-off, prizes and several vendors.

Admission to the event is free and along with honoring the church, the military, first responders and law enforcement will also be recognized and honored for their service to the community.

Women’s Conference Starts June 29

Pleasant Grove FWB Church will hold a Women’s Conference June 29 at 7 p.m. and June 30 at 10 a.m. The theme is “Women Moving Ahead For Christ.” The speaker on June 29 will be Eldress Young and the speaker June 30 will be Eldress Smith. The conference is sponsored by first lady Norma McArthur. The host pastor is Alexander McArthur.

Two-Day Gospel Sing Starts June 30

There will be a two-day gospel sing June 30 and July 1. On June 30 at 6 p.m., the gospel sing will be at New Hope Baptist Church, 3675 Rose Hill Road, Fayetteville. On July 1, the gospel sing will be at Rockfish Church of God, 7869 Rockfish Road, Raeford. Featured on the program will be the Port City Quartet and Larry Chason. Admission is free. A love offering will be received at each sing.

Fill-Your-Bag Yard Sale June 30

Blessing Box Ministry will hold a $5 fill-your-bag yard sale June 30 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brent Adams parking lot, 119 S. Lucknow Square, Dunn.

This organization is nonprofit and all proceeds go toward assisting families in Harnett, Johnston, Sampson, Cumberland and Wake counties.

Men’s Day At Evening Star

Sunday at 11 a.m., the annual Men’s Day service will be observed at Evening Star Holiness Church. Elder James Myles will be the guest speaker.

Buffet Breakfast At Calvary Baptist

Calvary Baptist Church will sponsor a country buffet breakfast Saturday from 7 to 10:30 a.m. The menu consists of country ham, sausage, bacon, grits, eggs, homemade biscuits, red-eye gravy, peaches, jellies, molasses, coffee and juice. Donations are accepted for the meal.
