Building Business Rally Coming Up Next Week

Cumberland County invites local businesses to attend the Building Business Rally Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Horace Sisk Gym at Fayetteville Technical Community College, 2201 Hull Road. The event is free and open to suppliers, professional service providers and prime and subcontractors.

In addition to Cumberland County Government, other partner agencies at the rally will include the City of Fayetteville, Cumberland County Schools, Hoke County Government, Town of Hope Mills, Town of Spring Lake, Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville Technical Community College, Public Works Commission, Cape Fear Valley Health System and the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

The Building Business Rally will be a collective effort to educate and engage local businesses on how to do business with these agencies and about the types of goods and services that are needed. Local businesses will have the opportunity to meet with purchasing and procurement representatives from 10 purchasing offices and 12 business support programs from local government and educational agencies. The rally will provide local businesses a chance to learn how to do business with these agencies, as well as network with other local companies. There will be four breakout sessions to offer information about funding, certifications and networking. A planning room will be available for any entity to show plans for review and to list upcoming projects.

Cumberland County purchasing and procurement representatives will provide bid opportunities, budgets, vendor information and will have available future plans for local businesses to view.

Organizations that support businesses through financial and qualification assistance will also be on hand. These include the FTCC Small Business Center, North Carolina Military Business Center, Women’s Business Center, Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, CEED Capital Loan Program, N.C. Procurement and Technical Assistance Center, and others.
