BBB accepting entries for 2020 Torch Awards

RALEIGH — Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern North Carolina is now accepting entries for the 2020 Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics. BBB created the Torch Awards as a regional competition to showcase ethical business practices for companies and charities that build trust, advertise honestly, tell the truth, remain transparent and honor their promises.

BBB Torch Awards are open to any for-profit and nonprofit organizations within BBB of Eastern North Carolina’s 33-county service area. While BBB accreditation is not required, all entrants must have been in business for at least three years, met all of their financial obligations, and have at least a “B” rating with the BBB. Entries will be evaluated by an independent panel of esteemed judges from business communities across eastern North Carolina.

The winners of the 2020 Torch Awards will receive:

  • Recognition in the April 24 edition of the Triangle Business Journal
  • Free press and publicity across 33-county service area, including news release spotlighting the winners sent to area media, a section in the BBB Accredited Business newsletter, special promotion on BBB website and inclusion on BBB’s Voice Response System
  • Presentation of engraved Torch Award for permanent display
  • Use of Torch Award logo
  • Recognition at BBB awards ceremony in April 2020
