Anderson Creek Academy Observes 9/11 Patriot Day

Anderson Creek Academy (ACA) Public Charter School, scholars, staff, parents and military service members held a remembrance ceremony to recognize Patriot Day 9-11.

None of the ACA students were born during this devastating event; however, some of the administrators, staff and family members were heavily involved during the attacks and the recovery missions. These stories were shared during the ceremony.

Jamael Hunte, a fifth-grade teacher, and students prepared and delivered an inspirational program.

The ceremony included a student-written poem and Mr. Hunte’s rendition of “God Bless America,” which inspired the attendees to sing along.

Food donations were collected for the local community food bank.
