38th Anderson Creek Ruritan Golf Tournament set for May 19


The 38th annual Anderson Creek Ruritan Golf Tournament will be held May 19 at Carolina Lakes Golf Club in Sanford. The event will be a one-day, two-person scramble for all flights. Players will be flighted before play by handicap on the average score submitted on their application form.

A shotgun start will be held at 8 a.m. The fees to enter are $60 per player or $120 per team, which will include a free practice round of golf during the week leading up to the tournament. A cart fee will be added for any practice rounds.

Barbecue and chicken will be served starting at noon for all players and sponsors. Cash prizes will be awarded for first place gross scores and first place net scores in all flights.

Special prizes will be awarded for longest drive, longest putt and closest to pin. Additional prizes will be given away in a drawing for players after their rounds.
