NORTH CAROLINA HARNETT COUNTY IN THE MATTER OF THE REMOVAL AND RELOCATION OF APPROXIMATELY FIFTY-SEVEN (57) GRAVES FROM THE TEW CEMETERY LOCATED ON PROPERTY NOW OR FORMERLY OWNED BY RAYMOND IVEY, JEAN IVEY, ET AL, LOCATED IN HARNETT COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA, STATE PROJECT/WBS NO. 53083.2.2, PARCEL NO. 908, I.D. NO. I- 5883. NOTICE Notice is hereby given to the known and unknown relatives of those persons buried in approximately 57 graves in the Tew Cemetery located on property now or formerly owned by Raymond Ivey, Jean Ivey, et al, and located in Harnett County, North Carolina, found within the right of way of State Project/ WBS No. 53083.2.2, Parcel No. 908, I.D. No. I-5883; that said Tew Cemetery is located approximately at or near the I-95 Interchanges at SR 1808 (Jonesboro Road) (Exit 75)and SR 1709 (Hodges Chapel Road) (Exit 77) in Harnett County, North Carolina; that the names of the known deceased persons to be moved are: Albert C. Tew, Jr., J. Helen Tew, Patricia Tew Coats, Judy Tew Whitman, Rosa Lee Tew, Lizzie May Tew, Henry C. Tew, Clyda L. Hobson, Edna E. Hobson, two infants, Jasper H. Jackson, James Auston Guy, E. Madeline Tew Guy, Hilton J. Anderson, Albert C. Tew, Sarah E. Tew, Ronnie Nell Stewart, Willis Stewart, Lillie T. Stewart, Robert Frank Schramm, Jr., Bobby Lynn Brown, Sarah W. Tew, Shirley Langley Raynor, Mary Frances Tew, Armathia Tew Langley, Needom Matthew Langley, Tony M. Langley, Timothy Ted Langley, deceased person whose name is illegible, Stephen Lee Shives, Dominick William Cerceo, John R. Jackson, Mary J. Jackson, Ina P. “Lady” Barefoot, Ida B. Barefoot, Paul Barefoot, Thelma Irene Barefoot, Mary Ann Jackson, Bertha Jane Jackson, and J. J. (Johnnie) Jackson; that there also 15 unmarked and/or unknown graves to be moved; that the Department of Transportation has been able to ascertain the closest next of kin or the only known relatives to some of the deceased persons are: Johnny Tew, Helen C. Kayea, Joseph Coats, Ronald V. Whitman, Billy Wise, Louise Tew, G. W. Hobson, Kenneth Monds, Debi Schramm, Linda Layton, Shirley Zolenski; that the subject graves to be moved will be relocated and re-interred (a) to the Willis and Lillie Tew Stewart Cemetery; (b) to the Veterans Memorial Gardens Cemetery; (c) to the Tew Cemetery located at 1570 Union Grove Church Road; or (d) to the Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery; that a complete record of where the approximately 57 subject graves of the known and unknown deceased persons will be re-interred will be on file with the Register of Deeds of Harnett County, North Carolina. You are further notified that there are approximately 57 graves found within the Tew Cemetery which are being moved and the Department of Transportation will be responsible for all reasonable expenses pertaining under the provisions of North Carolina General Statute § 65-106 and that the removal will begin after this notice has been published once a week for four (4) consecutive weeks over a period of thirty (30) days in the The Daily Record newspaper in Harnett County, North Carolina; in The News & Observer newspaper in Wake County, North Carolina; and in The Fayetteville Observer newspaper in Cumberland County, North Carolina.
